Live broadcast of the Costa Smerelda cruise ship from Italy
//2020-01-30
About 7,000 passengers and crew were trapped on the cruise ship in the port of Civitavecchia in Italy amid fears that two tourists were infected with the 2019-nCoV virus. This was due to the fact that two passengers (a couple of Chinese from Hong Kong) found symptoms of coronavirus: high fever and breathing problems. Italian doctors are already checking the analysis of sick passengers. The remaining passengers and crew cannot leave the liner until the results of the survey appear.
Information update: the infection was not confirmed. On January 31, the cruise ship received new passengers and continued on its way. Live broadcast from the port of Civitavecchia has been discontinued.
