Webcam at the entrance to the barn owl nest, Duhallow, Ireland
Live webcam in real time shows the entrance to the nest of barn owls in Duhallow barony in southern Ireland. The nest is located under the roof of an abandoned cottage and has been a haven for wild owls for many years.
Barn owls are one of two genera of birds of prey in the barn owl family. The upper part of the body of these birds is darker than the lower, usually reddish-brown tones. The lower part of the body is usually with dark speckles, but their pattern can vary significantly in individual species. The facial disk is in the shape of a heart, and unlike the masked barn owls and many other species of owls that are close to them, they do not have feathers in the form of ears.
