Webcam in the Kul-Sharif mosque, Kazan city, Russia
Live webcam is installed in the Kul-Sharif mosque — the main cathedral juma mosque of the Republic of Tatarstan and the city of Kazan in Russia. The mosque is located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin and is one of the main attractions of the city. The reading of the Quran continues around the clock in real time with a change of readers hourly and short breaks for prayer (five times a day). The Quran is read by the so-called Hafiz-e-Quran — these are people who have learned the text of the Quran by heart and read it exactly as the Prophet Muhammad did.
The webcam is located inside the mosque in the immediate vicinity of the place where the Hafiz-e-Quran read the Quran.
The Kul-Sharif Mosque is one of the symbols of the Tatar people, a visiting card of Tatarstan, a well-known memorial, a large place of worship. The interior of the Kul-Sharif mosque can accommodate one and a half thousand people. On the live broadcast from the online camera, you can see part of the interior of the mosque.
The mosque has its own history dating back to the 16th century. The Kul-Sharif Mosque-Museum of the Kazan Kremlin is currently part of the Kazan Kremlin State Reserve and is located in its western part.
