Foundry bridge - a drawbridge across the Neva River in St. Petersburg. It connects the central part of the city (at the Foundry Avenue axis) from the Vyborg side (street Academician Lebedev). The second permanent bridge across the Neva River (after the Annunciation bridge). The name of the bridge comes from the cast house, located on the left bank of the river. In 1879, at the opening of a permanent bridge it was called Bridge of the Emperor Alexander II. Name rapidly reduced to the Alexander Bridge, and after 1917 disappeared altogether, and not displacing the original name.
