This cannot be a view to the South or anywhere for that matter from the airport in Maiquetia. There is a very large mountain to the south, to the north you can see a berm full of cactus and if high enough the ocean, to the east you can see the mountain ridge and the La Guaira city along the coast, and same to the west. This image is NOT taken from Maiquetia.
