Webcam near the spotted eagle's nest, central Latvia
Live webcam transmits a view of the spotted eagle's nest, which is located in the central part of Latvia. The camera makes it possible to observe in real time the life of birds of prey in its natural habitat. The nest is located at a height of 17 meters from the ground and built in three branches of a large spruce.
This is a typical nest of a small spotted eagle. About half of the species nests in Latvia are built on spruces trees, and many of them are built in trees with broken tree tops, where the branches form several new tops.
The size of the nest and the condition of its material indicate that it is at least 5 years old. But for the first time this nest was discovered in 2018.
The live broadcast from the small spotted eagle's nest is provided by the Latvian Fund for Nature within the project «Arrangements for Lesser Spotted Eagle conservation in Latvia» (LIFE AQPOM), supported by the EC LIFE+ programme and the Administration of Latvian Environmental Protection Fund.
You can watch this live cam at the spotted eagle's nest in the central part of Latvia around the clock in real time.

It is a gift from the Universe, as are all of you who make it possible. The forest, nest and its inhabitants are beautiful and amazing. The best part is that it doesn't have any negative impact upon the spotted eagles or their habitat. I am grateful for your accomplishment. Thank you for sharing this enchanting place! /2019-07-21/
